Privacy and security on VidMints: your data, uploads, and account

How VidMints handles your account, uploads, prompts, payments, cookies, and downloads — plus the steps you can take to protect your privacy and troubleshoot common issues.

Securing your account

VidMints is a browser-based studio, so your account is the front door to everything you create. You can browse and use some lightweight tools as a guest, but you need a free account to save work or run AI generation. Whether you sign in with an email and password or with Google, your login is the single most important thing to protect.

A few habits keep your account safe:

  • Use a long, unique password you don't reuse on other sites. Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text.
  • If you sign in with Google, VidMints only receives the basic profile fields Google shares — it never sees your Google password.
  • Sign out when you finish on a shared or public computer. Your session and refresh-token cookies keep you signed in across tabs, so leaving a browser open leaves your account open.
  • Don't share or sell account access. Account sharing is not permitted and can lead to suspension.

What VidMints collects and why

To run the service, VidMints stores your account info (email, name, hashed password), usage data (projects, prompts, generations, uploads, and credit transactions), technical data (IP, device/browser, basic logs used for security and debugging), and any support messages you send.

Payments are handled by trusted, PCI-compliant payment providers. VidMints stores only a transaction reference and amount — it never sees or stores your full card number, CVV, or PIN. Your usage and account data are not used to build ad-targeting profiles, and your personal data is never sold.

Your uploads, prompts, and AI outputs

Files you upload — images, audio, and video — are sent to VidMints' cloud rendering pipeline to produce the output you asked for, using trusted infrastructure partners for the compute. That processing is the whole point of the tools, so uploads do leave your browser.

Two commitments matter here: your uploaded media is not used to train general AI models, and your files, prompts, and generated content are not shared with advertisers. You keep ownership of what you upload, and on a plan that includes a commercial license you also own the AI outputs you generate. Note that many AI tools cost credits; heavier generations cost more than light ones, and any generation that fails is automatically refunded to your balance.

Cookies, ads, and tracking choices

VidMints uses a small set of cookies. Essential session cookies keep you signed in and protect your account — disabling them breaks sign-in. Preference cookies remember choices like theme and default voice. Privacy-friendly product analytics help spot broken features.

Advertising cookies are different. On the free and Starter (ad-supported) tiers, VidMints loads Google AdSense, and Google and its partners may set third-party advertising cookies (including the DART cookie). Ad-free plans (Pro and Business) never load the advertising library at all, so those cookies are never set for those users.

  • Reject non-essential cookies through the in-app consent banner.
  • Opt out of personalized ads at Google Ads Settings (google.com/settings/ads) and aboutads.info/choices.
  • Upgrade to an ad-free plan (Pro or Business) to stop the ad library from loading entirely.
  • Clear cookies anytime from your browser — clearing essential cookies signs you out.

Downloading responsibly

The downloader is only for content you own or have the rights to use. You are responsible for making sure a download complies with the source platform's terms and applicable law.

If a download from a site like YouTube or Instagram fails, it usually is not a security problem with your account. Some platforms require the operator to configure cookies or a proxy for downloads to work, and that configuration can lapse or be rate-limited, so certain downloads may temporarily fail. Try again later or pick a different supported source.

Managing and deleting your data

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data. You can request an export or deletion at any time by contacting the privacy team, and VidMints aims to respond within 30 days. Account and usage data are kept while your account is active and for a short period afterward to meet legal, security, and accounting needs.

Troubleshooting

Common privacy and security questions have simple fixes:

  • Signed out unexpectedly: you likely cleared cookies or opened the app in a private window. Sign back in — essential session cookies must be allowed.
  • Ads still showing after upgrading: confirm your plan shows Pro or Business in billing, then reload; the ad library is skipped on ad-free tiers.
  • A download keeps failing: this is usually platform-side cookie/proxy configuration, not your account. Wait and retry, or choose another supported platform.
  • A generation didn't complete: failed generations are auto-refunded, so check your credit balance before retrying.

Frequently asked questions

Does VidMints use my uploads or prompts to train AI models?

No. Files you upload are processed only to produce the output you requested, using trusted infrastructure partners. Your uploaded media is not used to train general AI models, and your files, prompts, and generated content are not shared with advertisers.

Are my payment details stored on VidMints?

No. Payments run through trusted, PCI-compliant payment providers. VidMints stores only the transaction reference and amount — never your full card number, CVV, or PIN.

How do I stop seeing ads and advertising cookies?

Ad-free plans (Pro and Business) never load the Google AdSense library, so no advertising cookies are set for those users. On free or Starter tiers you can reject non-essential cookies in the consent banner and opt out of personalized ads at google.com/settings/ads and aboutads.info/choices.

Why did my YouTube or Instagram download fail — is my account compromised?

Almost certainly not. The downloader is for content you own or have rights to, and some platforms require the operator to configure cookies or a proxy for downloads to work. That setup can lapse or get rate-limited, so certain downloads may temporarily fail. Retry later or use a different supported source.

How do I delete my account and personal data?

Email privacy@vidmints.com to request deletion or an export of your personal data. Depending on your location you may also have rights to access, correct, or restrict your data, and the team aims to respond within 30 days.
